A genuinely casual contract is one which is ad hoc and where there is no “mutuality of obligation” . This would mean that there is no expectation to follow a set pattern of working.

If a person develops a regular pattern of work, are expected to work, also expect work to be offered, then this is no longer a casual arrangement and a different type of contract would apply.  For further advice, please contact your HR Caseworker
